The Camas retreat was certainly one that will stay in the memory bank for a long time. Very much a planes trains and automobiles moment. We set off from the Dutch Gable on Monday morning 17th June and returned to Greenock on Saturday 22nd June. We hired a mini bus and drove to Inveraray where we had a stop off then onwards to Oban, foot passenger to Isle of Mull and bus to Camas where a 2 mile hike ensued. Once we got there we were greeted by the lovely staff and settled down for dinner taking in the beautiful surroundings and relaxing for the evening.
The following days some of us participated in the granite challenge, which involved jumping in the sea early in the morning. Believe me it was freezing but we completed it and received our medals at the end of the week ( A granite rock on a necklace). Some of the activities we enjoyed where camping, canooeing, hill walking, rock climbing.the friday we enjoyed a day trip on a yaught where we fished for mackarel and cooked dinner for the staff as they had been cooking it for us for the full week up until then.
We all completed chores such as gardening, dish washing, tidying up and reflections.
This was a great escape and helped everyone reset for coming back home.
